We exist so that no Somali woman enters this sector alone.

Somalia has never lacked women who could do this work. It lacked somewhere for them to go, and anyone further along to ask.

So in 2019 we built it — and what began with two engineers is now a community across the country.

What we believe

Three things, and we have not changed our minds.

Talent was never the constraint.

Somalia has no shortage of women who can design a system, run a plant or read a fault. What it has is a route into the sector that was never built for them. That is a fixable problem, and it is the one we work on.
Isolation is what ends careers here.

Women rarely leave this sector because the work is beyond them. They leave because they are the only one in the room, with no one to ask and no one who has been through it before. A network is not a nicety. It is the difference between a first job and a career.
Energy is not a luxury.

We stand with the women who build this sector and with the women it is supposed to serve — those still without electricity, still cooking on charcoal, still paying the most for the least. A transition that reaches the grid but not the household has not arrived.

We wanted the young women coming after us to have somewhere to come to.
